Moving swiftly on, we were lucky enough to have a couple of hours on Holy Island, at Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island. The island is accessed via a causeway which is at sea-level, give or take a couple of feet, so is inaccessible about half the time. We were lucky to get tide times in Hexham that morning, and by the simple process of hacking up the A1 (modulo all the bloody caravans) we made it in time.
