Three authors molest three chairentities (past and present). Behind, P'Terry, Dave Langford and Mike Scott Rohan; in front, Tom Yates, Cosmic, and Jon Salmon. I think it's a bit rich for MSR to be passing comment on Cosmic's bald spot, but life's unfair in ICSF.

P'Terry speaks. In years that followed, he became our emergency GoH, to the point where he turned up with something written anyway, knowing full well at least one booked GoH would fail to show, and he'd have to step in heroically. Honestly, that man was a star.

The quiz. I assume this is charades of some kind; there are rarely UFOs in the ICU SCR. In the back, Dave Langford is on the left, with Dave Bate (quizmaster) in occultation, Shaw Ostermann and me. In front, the oppo (OUSFG), Penny, someone, and Ivan Towlson. I don't know who the middle row are... CUSFS?

The WingCo (Simon Bradshaw) looks puzzled; Shaw Ostermann doesn't.

Ivan Towlson (then head of OUSFG) and I attempt to do the astral pole. This was a very OUSFG thing, where two people holding hands attempted to wrap themselves completely around a brromstick (without letting go of each other, or the stick). I do remember we managed it, but I don't remember how. Or why.
