The COLOSSUS is being reconstructed. This machine was devised to assist in the analysis of LORENZ intercepts (a 12-rotor polyalphabetic subtitution cypher box, like an ENIGMA on steroids).

Parts involved in the reconsruction. Apparently the work got a great boost when BT decommissioned a load of old switching stations with valves in, which BP picked up on the cheap.

Deeply beautiful. There are a bunch of guys trying to reconstruct a working bombe (the film props are just shells), and this is how they're getting on. This is the back of the bombe, opened up to show fuse boards, wiring, etc.
