Album: Summer Tour 2008
We were supposed to be going around Europe, but my slipped disc and Caroline's unreliable bike caused us to stay home. We did go off to the Yorkshire Dales for a week, though.

Album: Return to Ormathwaite Hall
At the suggestion of Si and Dan, there was a partial return to Ormathwaite Hall in April 2008. The Shafrans, the Whitings and Caroline and I spent the best part of a week up there.

Album: Birthdays at Ormathwaite Hall
For Tom's 40th birthday (and Caroline's not-40th), we rented Ormathwaite Hall in the Lake District, for two weeks, in May 2007. Lots of friends and family came, and lots took pictures. Here are our pictures, and also those by other photographers.

Album: Summer Tour 2005
For 2005, we decided to keep it local - a week spent trundling around interesting bits of the UK. We aimed to take back roads wherever possible, and in 1,335 miles, apart from the 175-mile hack home try to avoid the rain (we failed), we did no more than 60 miles on motorways.

Album: Snowdonia with Ned and Pavli, 2005
Ned and Pavlina, of narrowboat fame, also have a cottage in Snowdonia, in Wales. They were kind enough to invite us up for a weekend's walking, talking and eating, in January 2005.

3,172 miles through France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium, from 6-26 July 2004.

Album: Bletchley Park
For my birthday in 2004, we took a day-trip to Bletchley Park, aka Station X, where the ENIGMA and other WW2 cypher traffic was attacked.

Album: Summer Tour 2003
Since we couldn't afford to go to Europe this summer because we bought the bikes, we took the bikes around the South Coast, Devon and Cornwall, and the bottom half of Wales. We left on 26/8/03, and returned on 3/9/03.

Album: Narrowboating, 18-21/4/2003
Ned's parents have a narrowboat at the bottom of their garden. Thanks to their (and N&P's) generosity, Ned, Pavlina, Caroline and myself all go off at Easter 2003 and trundle around the rivers and canals of London in it.
